Weekend Showcase

I remember that night 30 years ago. It had just made the 11 o'clock news and I was stunned. The next morning at school it was all we could talk about. I remember my Grade 8 history teacher, Ms. Chapdelaine, her voice quivering when she mentioned it in class. She grew up listening to The Beatles and Lennon and I could see his death had profoundly affected her. I knew The Beatles's music at that age having spent the previous summer listening to as much as could of them on the radio. After his death I became even more obsessed with knowing their history. They still are one of my favourites.
