8x10 film, done with Kodak 2D and 9" B&L Cinephor projection lens (a modern Petzval lens, approx. f-3.8). Manual shutter of about 1/4 second (?). It metered under reflected CF bulbs at 1/8 second and I basically removed and replaced the lens cap as fast as I could without jarring the camera.
Efke 820IR shot as straight BW (= no red filter). Developed in Rodinal 1+50 in a drum for 8.5 minutes.

Um... Yeah
Via Flickr:
For those who haven't seen this yet, this was the most bizarre sight from my August South Africa trip.
I was happy to have this image chosen by the folks at Mala Mala as one of only two guest images to be featured in their 2013 calendar.

Sphere of Gaia - The future of the Earth lies in our hands -
Sphere of Gaia - The future of the Earth lies in our hands -, a photo by LifeisPixels - Thanks for 400k+ views on Flickr.

That's the message I want to get across through this image.
I currently enjoy coming up with new ideas of photographing objects around my home. I have a glass ball that I wanted to try making some cool images for a while so here it is... I put the earth inside and in my hand!
The effect of the earth in the sphere was done out of camera and not with Photoshop layering. I used a portable flash to light the set. It's challenging to balance the ambient light which is the image of the Earth and the luminosity of hand and crystal ball, lighted by a portable flash.

Architectural Limbo
Via Flickr:
This is a shack I have been watching slowly fall down over the past number of years. See below to see how much more pristine it looked in 2003.
Image Notes: Image converted to black and white with split toning in PhotoNinja. I have to admit I have a soft spot for vintage grunge and decay. I had fun adding texture to this image in post, thanks to Skeletal Mass for the textures! Finally, I finished the image with a bit of Fievel's Gothic Glow.

Another amazing evening on Windermere. The sun was long gone and the creeping mist made everything a bit magical. Feel it.

A truly wintery morning. The fog was really thick and cast an ethereal beauty over the Worcestershire landscape.

Mrs. Wood Duck on Reflected Sugar Maples
Via Flickr:
Another road edit - here is the mate of the drake in the previous image. When I set up to shoot, I chose my spot hoping to get shots of the ducks passing through the reflection of a particularly vivid red maple at it's peak colour. While the drake didn't cooperate and swim through my targeted reflection, I did get some great shots of the female.
I wish I had also taken some video - this duck actually moved through a virtual rainbow - I have what looks like the exact same shot of the bird in a series of subsequent frames with almost nothing but the background changing from vivid yellow to orange to red to green as she paddled through the different reflected foliage - perhaps I can make an animated gif with all the frames....

Autumn at Follsjå
Via Flickr:
This is an LE taken near the end of one of many little rivers delivering water to this lake. The misty background (Blefjell's highest tops) was actually created by this year's first snow. It was 0 degrees Celsius and tiny snowflakes were falling down (not visible in the shot ;-) ).

I love your light.
Via Flickr:
One of my favorite instagrams. :)
I happened to stumble upon this scene while walking home from work one day. I get bored easily and love switching up my commute, and that involves turning down random alleyways. I chose this one, and it was the best turn I have ever made. :D
