Monkey Business
Congratulations Tom on being chosen as Admin's favourite in the Weekend Showcase! The framing of this little guy is perfect. I love his little hand clinging on to the fence and the tear in his eye. A photo that is open to many interpretations!
A moment away
Well done Eulinx you are Admin's Choice in the Weekend Showcase. The lovely colour, the perfect droplet and the well-captured meniscus all stood out in this amazing macro shot.

dragon lady
Congratulations, pippolata - the #17 winner of the Leave It To Me Challenge!
I don't know if the beast is sneaking up on the woman or if it's the pet walking 2 steps behind it's owner, but this transformation is awesome! Full of anticipation - very storytelling, and also very cool composition!

Once upon a time.....
A big applause to the second place winner of Leave It To Me, GooseGodessS! The mountain climbing, tomboy, amazon, tougher than a locomotive, is totally transformed into a romantic, very sweet and beautiful princess in a fairytale picture! But who said girly girls aren't tough? Not me :-) Congrats, P!

Congratulations to this week's Scavenger Hunt winner, blinked! The second time she's entered the hunt - and I couldn't resist blogging this awesome, funny and wonderful way to depict a "curled tongue"!
But make sure you view the rest of her 12 pictures in this slideshow! So many gems among them!

Ghost Door
I loved the grainy wood, the patterned plaque, the string, the metal handle and door knob - so many textures for the 'Texture theme'. All that and lovely shapes and colour too! A wonderful find Sara - congratulations.
Un-named
Congratulations lisendavy for this surprising entry in the 'Texture theme'. This photo looked as if it contained chocolate mousse with the lovely air bubbles surrounded by a soft - meringue (sorry am I drooling?) Imagine my surprise when I learned the truth! Thanks for that Rita!
Four eyes
Congratulations James Jordan! What an incredible macro and a wonderfully repulsive entry in the 'Texture Theme'. The hairs on those legs cry out to be tickled (by someone much braver than I).

There were many fantastic photographs posted in the 'Yippee, I caught it' thread but..... Congratulations snack happy! your explanation of the way you set-up and captured this clever image really caught my imagination!
You will have to read his comment section to see how Toby managed to get the 'smoke' in the 'wind tunnel'!

Temple of Poseidon
Congratulations Bobesh! This was a great entry in the 'Yippee, I caught it' thread.
Well done for managing to wait and capture this gorgeous scene without any tourists to spoil the effect!
The colours are magical and I am sure that Poseidon would have loved this photograph of his home.

~ chocolate shavings ~
This great macro was our other winner for this week's Scavenger Hunt and was taken by tomeq. The mixture of the white and dark chocolate shavings look almost abstract this close up, but they still look tasty. Congrats to tomeq for this entry 'chocolate shavings'. Please take a look at this slideshow to see all twelve entries for this week.
Flying chairs in the night
This insanely cool shot of a chair-ride at night was taken by tad2106. She took this shot quickly and in the rain. I just love it. It looks blurry enough to be abstract and yet the lines are there that you can make out what this is - eventually. This entry was for the item 'light' in this week's Scavenger Hunt. Please take a look at this slideshow to see all twelve of her entries. Congrats and thanks for playing!

neal hendrix (USA)
I just loved this shot in the Creative Challenge; Summer in Wide Angle! Not only is this a fantastic wide angle but also an amazing mid air catch. It probably has something to do with skateboarding being such a big thing on the west coast when I was a teenager.
we used to play
This photo was so evocative of summers past in the Creative Challenge; Summer in Wide Angle. The angle and wideness add to that sensation! Even the title will take adult back to the kid in them and long for when summer was one big vacation of fun.

Coloured Highlights
Admin Favourite: Weekend Showcase
This is a wonderful shot from Kenny, as soon as I saw it, I knew it had to be blogged, I just love it! The use of selective colour is superb and really captures the essence of the Edinburgh Festivals.
Thank you for sharing this with us in the 10 - 13th August Showcase.

Coffee beans in a ladle
Winner of #27 Scavenger Hunt: Tanakawho! Another hunter that has won before - but I bet you can see why! This is striking, vivid, fun and creative!
Take a look at the rest of her great entries in this slideshow. If you think it's lacking some pictures, it's because she did some combinations - like in the picture blogged here that's both "ladle" and "5 coffee beans".

Looking In. Looking Out.
Truthfully, I am still not sure why I like this image so much; I think it is the not excepted in the flamingo in the bottom of the oven. Exploring the new kitchen as part of Creative Challenge: Movement in the Kitchen.
Washing red apple
This was just so bright and cheerful in the Creative Challenge: Movement in the Kitchen. So fantastically light, it is just what the doctor ordered!
