Tiger swallowtail - just emerged in the woods - NEW, a photo by Vicki's Nature on Flickr.

I happened upon this newly-emerged Tiger in the woods when I took a side trail to chase another butterfly. Many of our big butterflies come out of our hardwoods - like tulip poplars and wild cherries. Looks like a female - in fact it reminds me a lot of a Canada Tiger.
