This is his entry for "hammock"! I really like how he's played with the lines of the ropes, and how the tree is only hinted in the background. Great DoF and focal point as well!

my Emma
Admin's Choice for the "Treasured" Theme!!
Mary says in her theme contribution "my daughter--my Emma--tops my list. She was so hard to come by and is such a gift, an everyday gift that I will never take for granted."
Such wonderful words that remind us that children are treasured above all else.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful photo of your Emma with us Mary!!

Squawk
This fantastic shot was submitted to the "Zoos from your travels" thead by gaiamother. This is from Central Park Zoo in New York City. I love the bokeh in the foreground of the leaves. It really adds to the sense that we're peaking in on this squawking bird. That beak is something else.
zebra reflection...
I love this photograph. The clear crisp zebra on the top half of the photo is crazily mirrored by its squiggly reflection on the bottom. This shot was submitted by kalurah in the "Zoos from your Travels thread" and she took this at the Portland Zoo. I love the framing and the reflection and the crazy lines. Well done kalurah and thanks for sharing this with the group.

Admin's Choice for our Weekend Showcase!
This stunning portrait was taken by Mona T. Brooks (mona, eh), a wonderfully talented San Francisco based photographer. Not only does the photo feature a true beauty, but the color tones, composition, and depth of field really make this portrait a masterpiece. Kudos, Mona, for a superb piece of work and for sharing it with us in our Weekend Showcase.

Call Me Karate took this shot in a plane on her way to Colorado. I love the unusual perspective of this photograph and the very clear and definitive line between the sky without the sun and the sky with the sun. This is such a clear shot for having been taken through a window - well done! Thank you for adding this to the "sunsets/sunrises from your travels" thread.
Sunset on the River
This gorgeous shot was taken by jump4joy in the Sacramento River back in 2001. The stunning pink hues, the sharp black silhouettes and the amazing power and beauty of nature make this one of my favorite shots in the "Sunsets/Sunrises from your travels thread".
